Bonsai Display Portfolio
In this folder are the bonsai (and kusamono) deemed to be of high enough quality to deserve showing in any bonsai show or exhibition. These are most refined plants and trees in the J. S. Botanical Arts collection, always working to demonstrate the incredible beauty and subtle philosophy of the natural world.

Shohin Display no.1
This is an extremely sentimental display of mine, as I first displayed it on September 24, 2022 at the Mohawk Hudson Valley Bonsai Society's Fall Show. Not only was this my first ever bonsai display (I was 15 years old at the time,) but the show took place on the very day that my teacher and friend, Pauline Muth passed away. This display and all the trees within will be precious to me for as long as I live, as they will all continue to perpetuate the many memories laced with joy and countless lessons from my time with Pauline. Each tree demonstrates the knowledge of horticulture and art passed from Pauline to myself, knowledge I will to perpetuate and spread throughout the course of my own life.

Chuhin Display no.1
This is the first composition I've ever had the pleasure of displaying at the Mid-Atlantic Bonsai Societies Annual Spring Festival, and what I hope is one of many yet to come. It features an American Larch Larix laricina collected by my friend and mentor Kris Springer of Black Dodge Bonsai planted perfectly atop a stone found by Martin Schmalemberg and gifted to me by my generous mentor Pauline Muth. It is set upon a stunning Jon Stewart stand and accompanied by an accent plant in a Sara Rayner vessel containing Canada Mayflower Maianthemum canadense, Rough Cinquefoil Potentilla norvegica, Wintergreen Gaultheria procumbens, Partridgeberry Mitchella repens and Silver Maple Acer saccharinum as well as possesses several small patches of Rock Polypody Polypodium virginianum growing upon the stone alongside the tree. Additionally, it was awarded "The Young Choe Best Accent Award - Mid-Atlantic Bonsai Societies 2024," an award I am immensely honored to have received! This composition, much like many of my artistic pursuits is meant to exemplify a realistic representation of the wonder of nature, and more specifically, that found in our own part of the world (Upstate New York). I am beyond thankful for this opportunity to display this work of art so close to my heart, and I hope that just as the tree in this display has grown over time, my own skill will be honed and developed with time.
